The Atelier
Working within a Space
It took time to finally have a space to call my atelier after setting up a table or corner in a shed. Each space did provided an opportunity to step away from routine and be present in the moment. It's only then that creativity flowed easily.

Working with Resources
Collecting resources from second hand stores, garage sales and kerbside pick ups have provided opportunities to source recycled materials and items which inspires creativity. The studio is filled with other peoples trash which is now my treasure.

Working with Clay
Clay is one of most earthy and versatile materials you can work with. It can be manipulated by the tiniest of hands, change ideas into formations and take on a new identity when aired dried or fired in a kilm. It's also therapeutic for the senses.

Working with Nature
Nature is often my inspiration when it comes to mark making. Each piece gathered brings uniqueness, colour and textures which is duplicated through pencils, pastels, paint or clay. The possibilities are endless.

Working with Paint Samples
Paint sample cards are the perfect tool for exploring tones which goes beyond the colour wheel of primary and secondary colors. Experiment by blending paints to match the card or search items found in nature of similar colours.

Working with Botanical and Bundle Dyes
Experimenting is part of any learning process and at the moment I'm turning my interest to botanical colour dyes and other techniques. Following and learning in the footsteps of Indigenous cultures, I have gained knowledge of their creativity.
