The Provocations
A provocation should invite and stimulate an exchange between child, educator and the materials using an open ended experience with no instruct outcome. The opportunity to share ideas through the expression of creativity, exchange of dialogue or a simple form of visual communication to extend on a child's interest or wonder.

The Provocateur
Be the educator who has the vision to think and act outside the limitations of 'we always do it this way'. Change the mindset of others through the collaboration of ideas, engagement with materials, reflective practice and visual representation.
The Invitation
Often we have a small window of opportunity to draw in a child's attention and invite them to join the experience. The set-up needs to spark joy for the senses, curiosity for the mind and ignite multiple perspectives. It's equally important to reset the provocations after each session.

The Initiative
Provocations provides educators opportunities to delve deeper into a child's knowledge, thinking and thought process. By taking the initiative to introduce a broad variety of materials and mediums, either abstract or concrete, It all stimulates a new way of doing things.
The Imagination
Everyone has part of their brain which imagines things, just like creativity, you just need to challenge yourself in ways not considered before. Take time to play with your ideas, explore different art techniques, research children's interest and be open to new pathways.
